What Size (How to Read Glasses Measurements)
Most glasses have a size printed on the inside of the arm (temple) or near the bridge. It often looks like three numbers, such as 52–18–140. These numbers help you buy a frame that fits like your current one.
1) Lens Width (First Number)
This is the width of one lens from left to right at the widest point.
2) Bridge Width (Second Number)
This is the space between the lenses that sits on your nose.
3) Temple Length (Third Number)
This is the length of the arm from the hinge to the end behind your ear
Why Frame Size Matters
A good fit helps with:
- Better comfort
- Less sliding down your nose
- Better lens position in front of your eyes
- Better safety coverage for work glasses
4) If You Cannot Find the Numbers
Sometimes the print fades. You can measure your glasses with a ruler:
- Lens width: measure across one lens
- Bridge width: measure the gap between lenses
- Temple length: measure from hinge to end of the arm
Fit Tips (Simple Rules)
- If glasses feel tight: try a wider lens width or wider bridge
- If glasses slide: try a smaller bridge or adjustable nose pads
- If arms pinch: try a longer temple length
